VISUAL WORKSHOP

Overview

VISUAL WORKSHOP is the ANSWERS product designed to: Prepare and verify models, Launch jobs and View Results for the MONK, MCBEND, RANKERN, and WIMS codes.

Features

Interactive 3D Wire Frame Display

Displays the geometry bodies used to construct the model. Wire frame, solid and transparent display options are available as well as cut-away planes and selective exclusion of parts of the model which can aid understanding of the geometry construction.

Display Results Graphically on the Wire Frame

VISUAL WORKSHOP can scan output files, extract available results and display them on the new 3D Wireframe View.

3D contour plots, 2D contour plots and 2D cell plot displays are available to display results which include MCBEND Flux and Response results scored on an XYZ or RTZ splitting mesh and RANKERN Scatter Contributions.

Interactive 3D and 2D Ray Trace Displays

The 2D and 3D ray trace displays use the same routines to generate the images as the analysis codes use to run the Monte-Carlo calculations. This gives the analyst a high level of confidence that the model being displayed is an exact representation of the model used for the calculation.

The 2D and 3D ray trace displays are interactive and ray traced in real time allowing the analyst to easily navigate the model.

Individual materials or volumes can be selectively included, excluded or rendered transparent in the 3D ray trace.

The display can automatically detect and indicate errors in the model such as undefined or multiply defined volumes.

Moving the mouse pointer over the model provides feedback in model co-ordinates and creation of measurement lines enables production of images with dimensions for inclusion in reports.

Additional code dependent features can be displayed using overlays; these include Source bodies, Dose points Importance mesh, Scoring mesh, Forced Flight interfaces, Scatter/Reflect bodies and particle tracks.

Display Particle Tracks and Event Locations

The 3D Wireframe, 2D Ray Trace and 3D Ray Trace views can display track and event data from, for example, collision, forced flight, history log and source log files from MCBEND or MONK calculations.

Launch Jobs

When Visual Workshop starts it scans the local system for installed codes and libraries. Visual Workshop will also scan the input data and decide which libraries are required and present the analyst with valid options.

Visual Workshop provides a queuing tool and a run monitor for running calculations. Output files can be viewed and graphs and plots of results generated.

System Requirements

VISUAL WORKSHOP is available for Windows PCs and Linux. For more information, see the full system requirements.

Older Graphics Products

VISAGE

For detailed interactive viewing of two-dimensional slices of your geometry model. VISAGE produces images directly from the geometry package of MCBEND, RANKERN and MONK. It informs you of anomalies in your model such as undefined or multiple defined regions.

Features of VISAGE include zooming, panning, material identification, location identification and selectable colour mapping and cutaway.

VISTA-WIRE

For rapid interactive viewing of a wire-frame representation of your geometry model. VISTA-WIRE enables component location and orientation to be quickly verified and provides a convenient starting point for more detailed visualisation using the other VISTA package components.

top

VISTA-RAY

For detailed interactive viewing of three-dimensional images of your geometry model. VISTA-RAY produces images directly from the geometry package of MCBEND, RANKERN and MONK and hence displays exactly the geometry encountered by the sampled particles.

top

VISTA-MOVIE

VISTA-MOVIE generates batches of images using the what you see is what you get approach of VISTA-RAY and joins them together as an animation according to your specification.

Uses:

Checking complex model, Familiarising and assimilating someone else's model, Producing High quality images for reports & presentations, Animations and Training.

top

VISTA-TRACK

VISTA-TRACK provides visualisation of the particle trajectories in the Monte Carlo simulation of MCBEND and MONK. A selection of filters permits the selection of those tracks of interest to the analyst.

top

VISTA-GRAPH

For quick interactive access and presentation of the results of the MCBEND and MONK calculations. VISTA-GRAPH enables the creation of custom output suitable for pasting into reports.
