
Validation is the process of ensuring that the data, method of solution, code or calculational route is for the solution of a particular problem. This may be achieved by comparison with experimental data and standard analytical solutions, or by comparison against another computer program. Validation of a complex code such as MCBEND is based on comparisons with high quality experiments.
MCBEND is validated for an extensive range of applications. The validation database covers many of the materials and geometries that are encountered in the nuclear industry and is subject to ongoing review and enhancement.
