3D regional model

This figure and the next one shows how the geometrical complexity of the domain has been captured by the NAMMU finite-element model, which employed about 18,000 tetrahedral elements.

Several slices through the domain are shown with the various hydrogeological units indicated by colour. Faults are shown by darker shades.

The surface of the model is shown by the white grid.

The initial view for this figure and the next three figures is from above, with North to the top of the display. The coast crosses the lower left corner of the model.

The domain is about 100 km2 and 2 km deep.
