The purpose of the iCONNECT club is to draw like-minded organisations together into a club in order to dilute the costs of addressing modelling issues, in particular those generic issues faced by organisations wanting to evaluate the performance of the geosphere as part of a repository safety assessment. The iCONNECT club will act as a forum for the focused enhancement of the CONNECTFLOW tool, resulting in wide-ranging benefits to all participants.

The iCONNECT club (integrated CONtinuum and NEtwork approach to groundwater flow and Contaminant Transport) is Serco Assurance's response to the desire expressed by those involved in radioactive waste management to address a range of generic and site-specific issues related to the evaluation of the geosphere as part of a safety assessment.

The modelling tool used for the iCONNECT club concept will be CONNECTFLOW. CONNECTFLOW already represents a substantial platform for addressing a very wide range of modelling issues. This is possible because the basic building blocks of CONNECTFLOW are the codes NAMMU and NAPSAC - both of which have substantial histories of extensive verification and application in many radwaste programmes world-wide.
