Hydrogeology Experiments

Hydrogeology experiments consist in the measurement of diffusivity, porosity, permeability and advection-dispersion properties of geological samples and building materials.

We offer

a range of experiments for characterising geological materials, including measurement of mass-transfer properties;
extensive experience including glacial deposits, clays, mudstones, sandstones, volcanic deposits, granitic and igneous rocks and metasediments;
specialised equipment allowing measurements under different environmental and stress conditions representing in-situ conditions;
gaseous and liquid tracer experiments
groundwater modelling and software.

These experiments provide you with key hydrogeological data under in-situ conditions for the assessment of a potential site and facility for radioactive waste disposal.
They can also provide direct data for critical safety-related radionuclides, e.g., Cl-36 and I isotopes.
