Description

The feature annotation panel is part of the feature properties dialog box. It is used to define the annotation text properties of features that use annotation, such as wells.
The panel is disabled for features not using annotation.


Enabling

Annotation can be turned on and off using the Display annotation check box.
If annotation is disabled, the rest of the panel will become disabled.


Typeface

The Typeface sub-panel specifies which typeface will be used for annotation text.

The typefaces are:
Arial
A sans-serif typeface.
Times
A serif typeface.
Courier
A fixed-width typeface.

Style

The Style sub-panel defines the style of annotation text.
More than one style can be applied.

The styles are:
Bold
The text uses a bold font.
Italic
The text uses an italic font.
Shadow
The text has a shadow.
Boxed
A box is drawn around the text.
Anti-aliased
The text is smoothed using anti-aliasing.

Horizontal alignment

The Horizontal alignment sub-panel specifies how the annotation text is aligned horizontally within its bounding box.

The alignments are:
Left
The text is left-aligned.
Centre
The text is centred.
Right
The text is right-aligned.

Vertical alignment

The Vertical alignment sub-panel specifies how the annotation text is aligned vertically within its bounding box.

The alignments are:
Top
The text is aligned at the top.
Centre
The text is centred.
Bottom
The text is aligned at the bottom.

Text properties

The Text properties sub-panel defines other properties of the annotation text.

The properties are:
Colour
Specifies the colour of the text. The colour is chosen by clicking the coloured box and selecting the colour from the colour browser.
Font size
Specifies the size of the text.
The font size can be selected using the slider or by entering a value directly into the text box.
Transparency
Specifies the transparency of the text.
The transparency can be set on a scale from 0% to 100% by using the slider or by entering the value directly into the text box. A value of 0% indicates completely opaque text and 100% indicates completely transparent (invisible) text.

Reset

Clicking the Reset button will reset the annotation text settings back to their default values.
